Dubai AI Week, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, will feature the third ‘Machines Can See’ AI Summit, organized by Polynome Events. This summit, scheduled for April 23-24, 2025 at the Museum of the Future, will focus on the theme ‘Good AI: Making the World a Safer Place.’
The program includes 20 keynote speeches and panel discussions, exploring the societal impact of AI across sectors such as robotics, autonomous vehicles, and more. A key highlight will be the unique expo zone, divided into three sections: a global AI and robotics showcase, a dedicated startup area, and a presentation of UAE university research.
Saqr Binghalib, Executive Director at the Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications Office, emphasised that the UAE is accelerating its efforts and strengthening collaborations to position itself as a global leader in AI innovation.
“Guided by its leadership, the UAE is harnessing AI to drive a prosperous and sustainable future. By fostering an environment that nurtures smart solutions, the UAE aims to set a benchmark for a comprehensive digital transformation,” Binghalib said.
Alexander Khanin, Head of Polynome Events, highlighted the summit’s broader vision: “By bringing together AI pioneers, we aim to foster community growth in the Middle East, showcasing the current capabilities of AI while exploring its potential to positively impact society.”
International perspectives on AI’s role in promoting and fostering top talent will take centre stage during the summit. Zhaslan Madiyev, Minister of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan, will contribute to the panel discussion on ‘AI to Retain and Attract Talent,’ exploring how AI development can mitigate brain drain and position nations as global talent hubs.
The summit will feature dynamic panel discussions spanning a diverse range of AI-related subjects. From the creative impact of AI on art and fashion to the intricate challenges of adversarial machine learning and the burgeoning landscape of AI investment, these sessions will offer comprehensive insights. Notable participants, including Hadi Badri, Rob van der Veer, and Paolo Benanti, will contribute their expertise, fostering a rich exchange of ideas on the ethical, economic, and technological dimensions of AI.
The summit will feature a diverse array of leading AI experts, including Gerard Medioni, Dawn Song, Michael Bronstein, and Marc Pollefeys. Their combined experience, spanning industry and academia, will provide a comprehensive understanding of AI’s advancements and its implications for a wide range of industries.
The creative potential of AI will be a focal point at the summit, with a dedicated panel exploring AI’s impact on art and visual innovation. Mauro Martino, from IBM Research’s Visual AI Lab, will contribute his expertise, demonstrating how AI is transforming artistic creation and visual storytelling. This session will illuminate the burgeoning synergy between AI and the arts.
This discussion forms part of ‘Machines Can See 2025’, a key event within Dubai AI Week, a city-wide celebration of AI, featuring discussions, competitions, and activations at the Museum of the Future and AREA 2071. Dubai AI Week, organized by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence and overseen by the Dubai Future Foundation, bridges AI research with practical applications, fostering collaboration among experts, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders.
