NEXCOM has unveiled the FTA 5190, a new AI-driven edge server designed to redefine data processing at the network’s edge. This powerful yet compact 1U server, featuring the latest Intel Xeon 6 SoC, targets the growing need for efficient and scalable solutions in today’s data-intensive environments.

The FTA 5190 is built to tackle the challenges of modern workloads, offering seamless data processing for applications ranging from collaborative platforms to big data analytics. Its space-saving design allows for easy integration into existing infrastructure, providing a compelling alternative to bulky and inefficient legacy systems. This translates to reduced operational costs through lower energy consumption and simplified maintenance.

NEXCOM’s strategic partnership with Intel has enabled them to deliver a platform that leverages the full potential of the Xeon 6 SoC. This processor, optimized for a wide array of demanding applications, including 5G, cloud computing, and AI, provides the foundation for the FTA 5190’s exceptional performance.

The Intel Xeon 6 SoC’s architecture, boasting up to 32 cores and 64 threads, excels in AI acceleration and security. Its ability to dynamically adapt to varying workloads, with cores acting as virtual cores for lighter tasks, makes it ideal for network-centric applications like vRAN, SASE, and SD-WAN.

High-speed connectivity is a core feature of the FTA 5190, with integrated 200G throughput and eight 25GbE LAN ports, minimizing total cost of ownership. The server also incorporates an AI acceleration engine and Intel QuickAssist Technology (Intel QAT), enabling efficient offloading of compute-intensive tasks like deep learning and cryptography.

The FTA 5190 is designed for rapid data processing, featuring PCIe Gen4/5 NVMe storage and a comprehensive suite of Ethernet connectivity options, including eight 25GbE fiber ports and eight 1GbE copper ports. This robust network capability makes it well-suited for applications like network security, image recognition, and media analytics. Enhanced security is provided through Trusted Platform Module (TPM 2.0) technology.

Expansion and flexibility are key considerations in the FTA 5190’s design. The server offers multiple M.2 NVMe/PCIe4/5 interfaces, external 25GbE SFP+ and 1GbE RJ45 ports, and support for up to 128GB of DDR5 6400 ECC RDIMM.

The compact 1U form factor of the FTA 5190 makes it ideal for deployment in space-constrained environments such as telecom cabinets and wall-mount racks, simplifying installation and enabling cost-effective upgrades. With NCS SDK readiness, NEXCOM ensures streamlined software development and rapid performance evaluation. The release of the FTA 5190 solidifies NEXCOM’s position as a leader in delivering innovative edge computing solutions.
