Meriam ElOuazzani, the Senior Regional Director for META at SentinelOne, says she foresees a high demand for AI, cybersecurity, and sustainable innovation technologies

How did the industry and your company fare in 2024, and what were the key highlights?
In 2024, the cybersecurity industry faced a challenging yet transformative year, driven by the increasing sophistication of cyber threats and the rapid adoption of AI and automation technologies. SentinelOne emerged as a leader in this evolution, redefining threat detection and response standards with groundbreaking innovations.

We unveiled a host of new solutions to make our vision of the Autonomous SOC a reality, including Singularity Hyperautomation, which empowers security teams with no-code automation to streamline workflows and respond to threats with speed and precision and Singularity AI SIEM, a revolutionary cloud-native SIEM solution that synthesizes data across the ecosystem, enabling real-time detection and investigation.

We continued to evolve our generative AI analyst, Purple AI, introducing advanced Auto-Alert Triage and Auto-Investigations to reduce alert fatigue and accelerate response times. We also unveiled our Ultraviolet Family of Security Models, proprietary large language models tailored for advanced cybersecurity use cases that have debuted.

What opportunities do you foresee for 2025, and how do you plan to leverage them?
In 2025, AI will become increasingly pervasive, revolutionizing how industries approach problem-solving and innovation. In cybersecurity, this evolution presents a tremendous opportunity to enhance threat detection, response, and prevention through more advanced AI-driven systems. SentinelOne is poised to lead this charge with our AI-powered solutions and platform approach.

We anticipate breakthroughs in AI capabilities, enabling broader, more generalized applications. For cybersecurity, this means systems capable of proactive threat hunting, real-time anomaly detection, and fully autonomous responses to sophisticated threats. SentinelOne’s Purple AI analyst, which set a benchmark for generative AI in 2024, will be further refined to address these evolving challenges.

Additionally, AI integration into autonomous systems beyond cybersecurity such as IoT devices and smart infrastructure presents both opportunities and challenges. SentinelOne plans to expand its ecosystem integrations, ensuring seamless protection across emerging technologies, and we will prioritize collaboration with governments, regulatory bodies, and industry peers to facilitate responsible AI innovation to capitalize on these opportunities.

What major challenges did you encounter in 2024, and how did you address them?
One of the major challenges faced by the tech and cybersecurity industries was global downtime caused by an unexpected issue in a routine update from a prominent cybersecurity provider. This incident underscored the critical importance of protecting against external threats and ensuring the reliability and continuity of system operations.

At SentinelOne, we addressed this challenge by leveraging our unique architecture to provide affected enterprises with operational stability and resilience. Additionally, we emphasized transparent communication with stakeholders during challenges, building confidence in our ability to deliver secure and reliable solutions.

Which emerging technologies do you believe will be in high demand in 2025, and why?
I foresee a high demand for AI, cybersecurity, and sustainable innovation technologies. AI advancements, particularly in generative models and autonomous systems, will revolutionize industries by enhancing efficiency, creativity, and problem-solving capabilities. From AI-driven diagnostics in healthcare to automation in logistics and entertainment, these technologies will empower businesses to innovate and thrive in a competitive landscape.

Cybersecurity will also take centre stage as AI sophistication grows. While AI enhances defences, it also equips cybercriminals with tools to execute more complex, targeted attacks on critical infrastructure. Organizations must prioritize proactive security measures, leveraging cutting-edge solutions like AI-driven threat detection, automated incident response, and holistic platform integration to stay ahead of emerging threats.

The push for sustainable technology will gain momentum as industries address environmental challenges. Innovations in renewable energy, green manufacturing, and circular economies will drive demand for solutions that balance growth with environmental responsibility.

However, achieving these goals will require navigating regulatory complexities and cultivating stakeholders’ collaboration. The convergence of these technologies presents immense opportunities, but their ethical deployment addressing concerns like privacy, accountability, and sustainability will be critical to ensuring an innovative, secure, and environmentally conscious future.

What will be your primary focus areas and strategic priorities for 2025?
We will focus on advancing cybersecurity innovation, strengthening customer trust, and empowering organizations to navigate a rapidly evolving threat landscape. We aim to deliver industry-leading solutions combining cutting-edge AI, automation, and scalability to meet the complex challenges of modern cybersecurity.

We continue to enhance our Singularity platform by refining AI-driven features like Hyperautomation and Purple AI to enable faster, more accurate threat detection and response. We aim to empower SOC teams with tools reducing operational burden while maintaining top-tier security. As cyber threats become sophisticated, we will prioritize strengthening endpoint protection, XDR, and identity security. By integrating AI with comprehensive threat intelligence, we aim to stay ahead of adversaries and provide unparalleled defence for our customers.

Are there plans to explore new markets or introduce new products/applications to your portfolio in 2025?
SentinelOne will focus on strategic growth through innovative product development to meet diverse customer needs and stay ahead in a dynamic cybersecurity landscape. We are advancing Purple AI to support multiple languages, including Arabic. This will enable greater accessibility and relevance in the MENA region, empowering organizations with localized and context-aware threat-hunting capabilities.

We also aim to expand our AI-SIEM solution. By combining real-time threat analysis, predictive modelling, and intelligent automation, this next-generation SIEM will enhance incident response efficiency while addressing the complexities of modern hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

With the growing adoption of cloud-native technologies, we will bolster our solutions for container security, Kubernetes management, and serverless environments. This will help organizations securely scale their cloud operations without compromising agility or resilience. A major focus will be advancing cyber resilience through enhanced threat recovery capabilities and ensuring continuous availability. Additionally, we are committed to developing a fully Autonomous SOC, integrating AI and automation to provide real-time, end-to-end security operations that require minimal human intervention.
