As usual, the camera experience of the Galaxy S23 Ultra is evaluated by DxOMark based on its pros and cons. On the positive side, the camera system of the Galaxy S23 Ultra performs consistently, making it an excellent all-around camera phone. This is a characteristic feature of Samsung’s latest phones as they offer a solid experience across the board, ranging from hardware to software.
Regarding the pros, reviewers praised the Galaxy S23 Ultra camera system for its photo rendering, good autofocus in photo and video recording, and strong telephoto capabilities at long range.
On the other hand, the Galaxy S23 Ultra reportedly falls short in some areas, including loss of image detail and shutter lag in low-light conditions, as well as instabilities with focus and exposure in backlit scenes.
Even though it’s Samsung’s best smartphone in the S series, the Galaxy S23 Ultra did not make it to the top 5 in DxOMark’s ranking. Instead, it tied with the Google Pixel 7 and the Vivo X90 Pro+ for 10th place, with a score of 140 points for the rear-facing camera.
In the selfie camera category, the Galaxy S23 Ultra tied with the Asus ZenFone 7 Pro, with a score of 137, and both phones shared 10th place.
